December 21, 2009
Visitor Center volunteer extraordinaire, Fred Rurhwien, kept getting questions about the cannon in Forest Park. The minimal information he had didn’t satisfy him and the mystery of the cannon got under his skin. Fred asked a lot of questions and made a lot of connections, spending more than a year diligently researching the origins of this little known Forest Park feature. His inquiries took him around the globe and back again. The answers and how Fred discovered them are inspiring. Read all about Fred’s discoveries in his interview with the Riverfront Times.
