Join the Missouri History Museum for an epic guest lecture. The phrase “The Age of Titans,” originally coined by Lionel Casson to characterize Hellenistic naval warfare, describes a period in which war fleets included larger-than-normal oared galleys, some with crews of more than 1,000 men. Dr. William M. Murray, University of South Florida, examines this period and proposes a new hypothesis in the evolution of naval warfare following the death of Alexander the Great.
