Forest Park Forever: "Lessons from the Field: Adding Color to Your Garden"

  • Learning Lab Classroom

With the plethora of new perennial and annual cultivars on the market, sometimes it may be overwhelming searching for the best perennials and annuals at your local garden center to add color and visual appeal to your home garden landscapes. Some plants are better at adapting to the heat and cold extremes of the humid continental Missouri climate, while others seem to fail.

This class is designed to be an open discussion on choosing the best perennials and annuals to fit our gardens in the extreme St. Louis climate.  Come bring your questions regarding perennials and annuals and learn more about new cultivars, native wildflowers and old favorites on the market that will thrive with a little care.

Patrick Greenwald, horticulturalist for Forest Park Forever will lead the class. Reserve a seat early. Registration is free. To register, contact Jean at jturney@forestparkforever.org.

Location: Learning Lab Classroom, Dennis & Judith Jones Visitor and Education Center, Forest Park.
