Hasanlu Tepe, in northwestern Iran, was the site of a small town with roots in the Neolithic era. Professor Megan Cifarelli, Manhattanville College, focuses on the personal ornaments that were found—in both deliberate burials in the cemetery in the lower town, as well as in accidental burials—on the bodies of victims of the final destruction of the citadel around 800 BC.
