A Voyage of Learning Teacher’s Academy is a summer program for teachers of St. Louis area that builds meaningful connections between students, teachers, the Voyager institutions and cultural institutions in Forest Park. Throughout the eight days of intensive professional development programming, the instructional team emphasizes knowledge, skills, and resources essential to effective experiential education, with the ultimate goal of encouraging teachers to utilize Forest Park as a natural extension of the classroom.

Our teacher’s Rendezvous was held on June 17th in conjunction with the dedication of the Council Circle, an outdoor teaching classroom that was generously supported by a gift with endowment match from William & Gina Wischmeyer.

Teachers, funders, board members and staff took the time to be reminded of the importance of the outdoors to provide learning opportunities and foster childlike wonderment regarding the natural world.

The Forest Park Forever Speakers Bureau takes Forest Park out into the community, with an average of three presentations a week to service clubs, social groups, small businesses, corporate employees, and schoolchildren. OASIS has been a partner of Forest Park Forever since the renovation of the Lindell Pavilion to become the Park’s Visitor Center. OASIS has an office and offers a wide variety of programs in the facility and throughout the Park. Forest Park provides a special opportunity for OASIS members to study nature and science and learn in a wonderful atmosphere.
