Forest Park is the most popular spot in St. Louis for picnics. The 15 sites that are available for rental provide groups with a great spot for a picnic that is close to the Zoo, Jewel Box, Planetarium, Art Museum, The Muny or the History Museum. All picnic areas accommodate large groups of people … the smallest holds 80 people and the largest is for about 400. Picnics are also allowed in specified areas on the grounds of the St. Louis Zoo.

A rental fee guarantees your group the Park picnic pavilion from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Parks Department suggests each group make a trip to the park to view the sites in person before calling for rental information. A sign at each site gives the number of the picnic ground.

Picnic reservations can be made a year from the date requested. Because of call volume, you may have to try several times to get through on the picnic reservation line. Reservations may not be checked or made online. For information and reservations, call the Parks Division at (314) 289-5330 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
