Event Recap + Photos: 2016 Fall Family FunFest
On, Sunday, October 2, approximately 1,500 people joined us for fall festivities in Forest Park. Every year, we host our Fall Family FunFest as a way of saying thank you to our nearly 7,000 members. This free event includes an afternoon full of family-friendly activities and allows us to give a little something back to the members of Forest Park Forever whose support helps make the work we do possible. This annual event is beloved by many of our members and is a great way for them to introduce their family members to Forest Park Forever.
This year's event included activity stations from partner institutions including the City of St. Louis Department of Parks, Recreation & Forestry, Missouri Department of Conservation, The Muny, Children's Hospital – St. Louis, and Explore St. Louis. Guests also enjoyed entertainment from Bubble Bus, carnival games, a photo booth, face painting, walking tours, bounce houses and more.
One of this year's most popular activities was the Nature Art station led by Forest Park Forever's Education Coordinator Jean Turney. Kids (and their parents) were able to create temporary masterpieces using natural materials found around the Park. You can see all the beautiful finished products in the slideshow below!
As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, we once again partnered with St. Louis Earth Day to help divert as much waste as possible from the landfill. Vendors were encouraged to use compostable and recyclable materials and representatives from Earth Day were on hand to help guests sort their trash into the appropriate bins. It is always a pleasure to work with Earth Day to make our events just a little bit more green!
The Fall Family FunFest was presented by Boeing and Wells Fargo Advisors, with additional support from Macy's, Imo's Pizza and Drury Hotels. Many thanks to all of our generous sponsors for making this event possible.
