Want to learn to identify trees in winter, when leaves, flowers, and fruits have all but disappeared? This two-hour workshop will begin indoors where participants will learn the basic structural and morphological characteristics of trees (twigs, buds, bark, etc.) used for winter identification using photos and twig examples. We will then move outdoors (weather permitting) to practice our new identification skills on trees around the visitor center using field guides. The workshop will focus primarily on trees native to Missouri.
