Dr. Keona Ervin, University of Missouri–Columbia, presents a lecture on African American women who spearheaded key campaigns of the St. Louis civil rights movement. Women such as Frankie Muse Freeman and many others were civil rights strategists whose political leadership produced important victories and inserted St. Louis into national debates about race, gender, and citizenship
