First Fridays at the Saint Louis Science Center: Harry Potter

Come explore science through the magical world of Harry Potter! Participate in wizarding activities and demonstrations, browse Harry Potter-inspired arts and crafts, and more! See Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, free in the OMNIMAX Theater at 10 pm. #FridayGeekOut

What is First Friday?

Unless otherwise noted by the , all activities are FREE! We will have $5 preferred parking in our Oakland Lot. Members can park in the Oakland Lot for free.* Free parking will be available at the Forest Park Community College garage near the intersection of Oakland and Macklind and free parking in the McDonnell Planetarium lot and around the Planetarium in Forest Park. All items marked with a  require tickets. Tickets for free screenings available at any box office, starting at 6pm.

  • Visit with the World Bird Sanctuary to see owls featured in Harry Potter(T-Rex Room)

First Floor-1

  • Snap a photo at Platform 9 ¾ at the front entrance

  • At the Archon table, sign up to show off your wizard wear for the Harry Potter Mini Masquerade

  • See our special exhibition Guitar: The Instrument that Rocked the World. Last entry at 8pm. Special First Friday pricing: $8 for Adults; $5 for Seniors, Children (6-12), and Members. Jam out to wizard rock band Tonks and the Aurors at 7pm on the sound stage in Guitar!

  • Stop by Diagon Alley for all your Harry Potter shopping needs (Boeing South).

  • Visit the Room of Requirement in the Life Science Lab Classroom.

GROW-1

  • Use a little bit of magic and a whole lot of brainpower to succeed in the magical escape room from Wizible in the GROW Pavilion. Children under 14 must be accompanied by a paying adult: $10 per person. Tickets available at any box office.

  • Try Tractor Quidditch! Test your Quaffle-scoring skills in this modified version of Quidditch. Ages 12 and up: $4 for a two person team. Tickets available at the Tractor Kiosk in GROW.

  • Get food and drink specials at the Fermentation Station, including butter beer and Mrs. Weasley’s corned beef sandwiches.

  • Make a Potter-themed pancake with Dancakes, brought to you by Anime St. Louis.

The Loft-2

  • Look for food and drink specials at the Loft.

Planetarium

  • Public Telescope Viewing – weather permitting (Archery Field) –night sky viewing beginning at 7pm, with the St. Louis Astronomical Society.
