Readers of the current issue of the St. Louis Business Journal are greeted — at its very top — by Forest Park Forever's Tamara Sheffield, Senior Vice President of Finance & Operations. We are thrilled that Tamara has been named a CFO of the Year for 2015. She is one of just 11 honorees across the entire region, spanning sectors from healthcare and technology to the nonprofit world. In the Business Journal’s words, "these individuals have helped their companies grow beyond projections because of their skills and expertise.”

Here's an excerpt of the feature on Tamara

At the nonprofit organization, Sheffield has helped introduce new IT and payroll systems, and has worked to make hiring practices more streamlined and automated, [Forest Park Forever President & Executive Director Lesley] Hoffarth said. Sheffield has also helped increase the volunteer ranks of Forest Park Forever by encouraging managers to invite more large and corporate groups of volunteers. Sheffield said last year the park had nearly 1,200 volunteers, compared with 1,000 when she started. She also helped to negotiate the organization’s $30 million municipal bond agreement with St. Louis that allows the nonprofit to purchase comprehensive bonds from the city through private placement.

As an organization that is committed to exceptional financial stewardship, this type of recognition means so much both to Tamara and to our whole team.
