Enjoying autumn in Forest Park

How will the spring and summer weather affect the Park’s foliage and wildlife?

Nature is full of surprises. Summer droughts caused failed reproduction in many plants and lot of flowers in our region have shriveled. But, according to Forest Park Ecologist Amy Witt, pollinators and beetles are going to have a great year!

Our experts share more guidance and things to enjoy this season in Forest Park!

Forest Park is still our favorite place. Today and forever.

Tornadoes devastated the St. Louis region on May 16, 2025. In Forest Park, the west and north ends were most significantly affected. Over 5,000 trees were impacted.

Work and tornado recovery in Forest Park happened immediately and it continues this season. Restoration will take years and all of us working together.

Summer aerial rendering of the Glade, 22.5 acres from the Taylor Kindle River to Kingshighway

Imagine the Glade

Forest Park Forever and the City of St. Louis are proud to partner on the Glade. This community-driven project will transform Steinberg and its surrounding 22.5 acres for activity all year.

The Glade was not impacted on May 16. As tornado recovery and construction continue, our experts are working with local furniture maker Mwanzi Co. to repurpose felled trees into tables and other furniture in the Glade.

Follow progress of the 20-month project on the construction update page of our website.
