Storytime in the meadow

Bring your imagination! Our Education Team host Storytime in Forest Park on Monday mornings this season.

Storytime is open to children of all ages and their caregivers. This seasonal, outdoor event series is a great way to connect with nature, books and community. Our St. Louis Public Library partners lead stories and songs, and we bring snacks, water and picnic blankets.

Dates: each Monday from June 1 until August 31

Time: 10:00 a.m.

Cost: Free

Location: Anne O’C. Albrecht Nature Playscape meadow (map below)

Travel: Free parking, bike racks and the Concourse/Washington Metro bus 90 stop is near the Anne O’C. Albrecht Nature Playscape

Weather: This program is weather dependent. Please check our park-wide event calendar for cancellations on a specific Monday during the spring, summer or fall seasons.

Storybook Walks around the Park

In partnership with the Saint Louis Public Library and the Missouri History Museum, our Education Team invites you to a Storybook Walk in Forest Park. This counts towards your STL Summer Adventure activity prize!

Dates: June through August

Time: Come and go as you please while the Park is open! Forest Park is closed from 10:00 p.m. through 6:00 a.m.

Cost: Free

Location: between the Dennis & Judith Jones Visitor and Education Center and the Missouri History Museum

Travel: Free parking, bike racks and the Grand/History Museum Metro bus 90 stops near both locations. There are several ADA parking spaces in the east & west parking lots across from the Visitor and Education Center.

Weather: This program is self-guided and not weather-dependent.

 

In partnership with Ready Readers, our Education Team invites you to a Storybook Walk in Forest Park. Read You've Got This! along the pathway near the dinosaur replicas on the grounds of the James S. McDonnell Planetarium in eastern Forest Park.

Dates: June through August

Time: Come and go as you please while the Park is open! Forest Park is closed from 10:00 p.m. through 6:00 a.m.

Cost: Free

Location: along the pathway west of Bowl Lake in eastern Forest Park. If you begin near the dinosaur replicas on the grounds of the James S. McDonnell Planetarium, carefully cross the dual recreation paths to access the Storybook Walk pathway. You also can access the path from Oakland Ave using the underpass across from the Saint Louis Science Center.

Travel: There is free parking and bike racks at the Planetarium. The Oakland/St. Louis Science Center Metro bus 90 stops nearby and the Central West End MetroLink station Red Line and Blue Line train is less than one mile away.
