Kemper Family Commons
The Kemper Family Commons is the heart of the Pavilion at the Glade, the beautifully renovated mid-century modern facilty originally opened in 1957. Once simply a spot to lace up skates, the Commons is now a destination: an all-seasons hub of activity and a comfortable space made for lingering. It’s where visitors will shake off the cold in winter, beat the heat in summer and fuel up for their Forest Park adventures in all seasons. It’s an end point and an entryway to a completely reimagined Forest Park experience.
Taylor Family Terrace
The Taylor Family Terrace on the second-floor rooftop of the Pavilion is where you can soak up the sun or relax under an extensive shade structure. In cooler weather, innovative and flexible seating transforms from tabletops to fire pits. The rink below, the Clever Little Girl community lawn and Emerson Green nearby and the natural areas in the distance create a beautiful backdrop for this elevated Forest Park experience.
Community Living Room (“Amelia’s Place”)
Opening in spring 2027. Indoor areas on the second floor of the Pavilion are made for casual activities, including game nights, group meetups and gatherings with family and friends. The Amelia Ellen Broughton Community Living Room (“Amelia’s Place”) will be a spot like no other in Forest Park. As its name suggests, it’s designed to be comfortable and inviting with a welcoming living room feel, where guests will gather to relax, get work done, keep warm in winter, cool off in the summer and enjoy a comfortable space with a one-of-a-kind perspective of the Park. The flexible space will be open for daily community use but can host special events, too.
Room Rentals
Three rooms inside the Steinberg Pavilion: the Meadow Room, the Prairie Room and the Savanna Room. Each room has a door leading directly outside to Steinberg Rink, television and audio–visual equipment. If you’re interested in renting a space at The Glade, please fill out our rental request form.
