Planting for the futureโฆ
Reflecting on a Year of Resilience and Restoration
We accomplished a lot this year. Our teams completed the decades-long effort to connect the Parkโs waterways. Crews broke ground on two community-driven projectsโone to reimagine the Glade and Steinberg Rink, the other to renovate the Boathouse. The May 16 tornado reminded us how quickly the things we love can change, but we have so much to look forward to in 2026.
Next year marks 150 years since the dedication of Forest Park and our 40th anniversary. We will also plant 1,000 trees or more. So, we end 2025 with reflection and gratitude.
Forever a Place for All of Us
Restoring, maintaining and sustaining Forest Park is what we do. Tornado recovery is now part of our annual plans and weโve made significant progress cleaning up After the Storm. Our experts are integrating tornado recovery into the long-term master plan for Forest Park.
Thereโs still so much work to be done! Thanks to generous supporters like Robert Meyer who sustain Forest Park as a place for all of us, forever.

Imagine the Glade
Forest Park Forever and the City of St. Louis are proud to partner on the Glade. This community-driven project will transform Steinberg and its surrounding 22.5 acres for activity all year.
The Glade was not impacted on May 16. As tornado recovery and construction continue, our experts are working with local furniture maker Mwanzi Co. to repurpose felled trees into tables and other furniture in the Glade.
Follow progress of the 20-month project on the construction update page of our website.
