  • 5700 Lindell Boulevard University City, MO, 63130 (map)

Join Nine PBS and the Missouri Historical Society for a special community event honoring the 160th anniversary of Juneteenth. At this event, we will explore the history of Juneteenth, its past and present impact on our region, and it’s enduring significance in our community.

Begin your evening with food and drinks for purchase from local food trucks and explore the exhibits at the Missouri History Museum to see how Juneteenth connects to St. Louis and our region. Next, experience a live taping  of Nine PBS podcast Listen, St. Louis with Carol Daniel. The episode, “160th Anniversary of Juneteenth: Exploring the Resilience and Strength of African Americans,” will include a discussion with MHS Public Historian Cicely Hunter and Dr. Tandra Taylor, assistant professor of history at Souther Illinois University Edwardsville.
