Cast your vote, St. Louis! Forest Park nominated in national Best City Park poll
Forest Park is vibrant, fun and resilient — just like the St. Louis community that has made it the place to be for the past 150 years.
Forest Park is a place of joy for our region, where memories of outdoor recreation, culture and family fun are forged, in all seasons. Thanks to this great community, that remains true even after a tornado damaged 5,000 trees last May. An incredible team — our nonprofit conservancy, partnering with the City of St. Louis — takes care of this community treasure each day to sustain it as one of the best urban parks in the country.
Just last year, over 2,000 volunteers helped this great team, pitching in on annual and seasonal care and jumping right into tornado recovery. And over 6,000 annual members who support Forest Park Forever power our work.
Those are just a few of the reasons USA Today has again nomimnated Forest Park as a Best City Park in their 10Best Readers' Choice Awards poll. Forest Park’s fully accessible Variety Wonderland Playground is also nominated for Best Public Playground! St. Louisans can vote every day through April 6 to tell the nation they are #1!
You can vote for each St. Louis destination once per day. You don't need to sign in or provide any personal information to vote. Click the buttons above to cast your vote!
Facts About Forest Park
Forest Park is regularly considered among the nation’s best urban parks thanks to a St. Louis success story: the innovative public-private partnership between the nonprofit conservancy Forest Park Forever and the City of St. Louis Department of Parks, Recreation, and Forestry, who collaborate to restore, maintain and sustain Forest Park as a treasure for all to enjoy.
Size: Over 1,300 acres — two square miles in the heart of the St. Louis region
Attendance: Over 15.5 million visits annually
Outdoors and Nature: 30 miles of paths and trails, 3.35 nautical miles of waterway, 190 acres of Nature Reserve
Culture: But it’s not only the amazing recreation, nature, playgrounds and community gatherings that make Forest Park one of a kind. It’s also home to world-class cultural institutions which each offer free admission for the community: The Saint Louis Art Museum, the Saint Louis Science Center, the Missouri History Museum, The Muny and the Saint Louis Zoo are each fixtures in the Park, and each summer St. Louis Shakespeare Festival holds a month of free performances right here in Forest Park at Shakespeare Glen.
