Don't Miss These Epic Picnic Spots in Forest Park
April 23 is National Picnic Day! We are celebrating by teaming up with our friends at the Muny on social media to show you some of our favorite spots to picnic in Forest Park (follow along using #ForestParkForever or #MyMuny). A few pro tips before we show you the spots:
Looking for a picnic spot for large groups? Our friends at the Parks Department can help you.
Order food from Forest Perk Café and rent a picnic basket from them to bring it in.
Find your way to the picnic spots using ForestParkMap.org.
What are you waiting for? Get those baskets ready!
In 2018, Art Hill was included in Buzzfeed’s “Best Place to Take Instagram Pictures in Each State.”
With an iconic view of the Saint Louis Art Museum and the Apothesis of St. Louis statue, who would disagree?
MOONLIGHT PICNIC ON POST-DISPATCH LAKE
Don’t worry about packing a picnic because the Boathouse Paddle Co. has you covered with their Moonlight Picnics on the Lake. On Thursdays starting May 2 until September 26 enjoy a two-hour picnic dinner on a paddle boat at sunset in Forest Park. Price includes paddle boat rental, dinner, and drinks for two. Learn more.
Looking for a more quiet spot for a picnic? Round Lake is located in the northeast area of the Park. The historic fountain, installed in 1916, is the perfect background noise for reading or meditating.
Located in the Deer Lake Savannah next to the waterway, Council Circle has enough space for lots of people for a picnic. Plus, you don’t have to worry about bringing a blanket or chairs!
