We’re All Winners after the Forest Park 5K & Kids Dash

On Sunday, August 16, Forest Park Forever hosted the only 5K in the Park that sustains the Park. More than 900 runners, walkers, rollers, strollers and virtual racers helped raise over $60,000 to support Forest Park Forever’s work in the nation’s best city park!

The annual event was a huge success despite the excessive heat and humidity. Before the race, attendees fueled up with coffee shots from Crema Coffeehouse and snacks from Straub’s Markets. To keep everyone safe as the heat index soared, Forest Park Forever added an extra water station and positioned golf carts on the race route to take participants back to the event headquarters. And new this year, attendees 21 and older had the option to cool down with a post-race brew provided by Anheuser-Busch!

We’re grateful to participants for coming prepared for the heat and taking care of one another on the course! If you registered but opted not to join us on Sunday, we encourage you to wear your Forest Park 5K & Kids Dash T-shirt and tackle the race route—or any part of Forest Park—on another day. If you missed packet pick up, you can grab your T-shirt at the Forest Park Forever office inside the Dennis & Judith Jones Visitor Center until Friday, August 28.

All proceeds will support the ongoing recovery that’s now part of our daily care of Forest Park. With your help and in partnership with the City of St. Louis, Forest Park Forever will continue to restore and maintain this community treasure for all of us.
