About the Project
These major enhancements to eastern Forest Park complete a decades-long vision to create an interconnected waterway across Forest Park. The 2.5-mile Taylor Kindle River, established as part of The River Returns project, first brought this vision to life in the early 2000s. This final phase, which completes the restoration of the Park-wide water system as envisioned in the Forest Park Master Plan, was funded by donors to Forest Park Forever’s Forever Campaign.
New features include a cascade (Wise Falls) on the south shore, a boardwalk (Bayer Boardwalk) bringing visitors out over the lake, more spots for fishing, a picturesque extension of the river connecting it to Jefferson Lake, a restored Bowl Lake and Round Lake, plus other enhancements.
